The ZNF

The Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker-Centre for Science and Peace Research (ZNF) in cooperation with several other faculties at the University of Hamburg integrates the values of peace research into the overall work of the Department of Natural Sciences. The cornerstone of ZNF is cutting-edge and innovative natural science as well as interdisciplinary research and teaching. Our Centre endeavours to uphold the vision and principles of the Federation of German Scientists (VDW) that was established at the University of Hamburg in the middle of 1960s by Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker.

In March 2006, the ZNF officially began its work.
