New study on disarmament verification

In order to promote the debate on disarmament verification, the US-American Nuclear Threat Initiative has published a series of reports on "Innovating Verification: New Tools & New Actors to Reduce Nuclear Risks" (www.nti.org). Malte Göttsche, from the ZNF, was involved in the creation of the "Verifying Baseline Declarations of Nuclear Warheads and Materials”. The report finds, among other things, that many open research questions regarding the verification of warheads and fission material might be best dealt with in multilateral cooperation, including non-nuclear-weapon states. This is also a motivation for the work at the ZNF on this topic.
