At the ZNF several scientific points of emphasis exist. Special consideration receives the “Atom Trap Trace Analysis Experiment”. Further research areas include the verification of disarmament and the trademonitoring of dual-use goods. Alongside these main research activities there are other projects located at the ZNF.
