Scientific Career and Parenthood

On 4 December 9:00 -11:00 h, the Clusters of Excellence CLICCS, CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter, and Quantum Universe, the MIN Faculty, and the Family Office of the University of Hamburg will hold their annual Scientific Career and Parenthood event. In a panel discussion, researchers will share their personal strategies for balancing their academic careers and family lives. Participants will also get an overview of the legal framework under the academic fixed-term labor contract act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz, WissZeitVG) and their effects, e.g., taking parental leave. Networking is a main focus of the event, so there will be time for questions and peer-to-peer exchange. This is a family-friendly event—children are welcome!
